Would you like to add a new twist to your house? Excellent! It is always the right time to switch it up, and for anyone in search of ideas, suggestions or simple inspiration, Social Networks are there to the rescue.

“There’s a whole world out there” were the lyrics of an Italian hit a few summers ago: indeed, not only is there a whole world out there on social networks, there’s truly a whole lot more!
Starting from the endless stream of content to draw inspiration from, to practical advice that are often easily achievable with a dash of DIY…. Everything, with a single goal: to make your home as close as possible to your idea of the “perfect home”. Or at least, perfect for you.
On social networks today it is possible to find a truly endless trove of trends and fashions from every corner of the world. Let’s view the digital world like a huge sounding board for the echo of fashion and design: apparently opposing notes harmonise online, and what initially appeared kitsch suddenly becomes cool. All you need to be able to do is create the perfect harmony of styles and each piece will find its place in your home. Maybe right in your own!
But let’s take this in steps: the sources, to begin with. Of course, finding inspiration online is easy, and everyone thinks decorating is a breeze. Wrong. Interior design is a fascinating and fun world, but it takes time, energy and, above all, a budget to decorate your home. The beauty of being able to do it online (or at least, to find the “right pieces” with one click) is that one no longer needs to do the rounds of companies and showrooms and bring piles of brochures back home to browse through, looking for “THE idea “. The most common alternative to traditional catalogues is browsing the internet. And more specifically, on social networks, Instagram first and foremost. Today, the most original ideas can be found online: once a simple tool and place for digital conversations, today Social Networks have become a virtually essential tool not only for private users, but especially for businesses. A shop window constantly being updated for brands, a mirror that reflects and shows the entire world the ideas and inspirations of trending influencers. And please always use the right filters and lighting!Basically, being the trend catalyst that it is, Instagram collects very appealing images, also in terms of design and home decor. Browsing through the profiles of the world’s most famous Instagrammers will allow you to discover the smash hit fashions and styles: often they are photos of details, close ups that provide inspiration, an idea… The viewer has the arduous task of taking them on board and putting them together, creating a personalised project. All picture and post worthy. And why not on Instagram?
To find inspiration, free rein on the (many) other platforms devoted to interior design. Two names stand out from the others: Houzz and Homify, both always abreast of the coolest and latest trends. What will you find on Houzz? Simply everything, and we mean absolutely everything, about interior design. And the beauty of it is that the site is entirely designed to address user requests: ideas, tips, articles sorted by style or by room, not to mention the huge photographic archive that is worth a visit in itself… On Homify, on the other hand, we are in the realm of order! Easy, fast, user friendly, the site is divided into four well-structured sections and thereby intelligently solves the problem that has happened to every user at least once: getting lost in the vast sea of images or content. Lastly, one word on what has by now become the thermometer of our desires: Pinterest. Never-ending bulletin boards of pictures, ideas, tips to seize and stick with a “pin” in our visual memory. Pinterest, like all social media, knows us well and speaks about us, our passions, what we like. And above all, about how we wish to decorate our home.
